Our work in primary schools

Starting in disadvantaged or isolated communities, the Foundation is subsidising curriculum-based primary music lessons, working with delivery partner, Sing Education. Children in our schools participate in both a music lesson and singing assembly at least once a week plus the opportunity to take part in a choir or music club. Every half term, children progress on to a new scheme of work. As well as providing regular music lessons, the Foundation supports schools to embed music throughout the school community by offering cross-school performance opportunities with Ryedale Festival and Make Music Day, trips and visits featuring professional musicians to inspire children, and signposting children to next steps in their musical journey.
